give you a look into my past and make myself feel old. My only hope is that I make many feel the same or perhaps make you realize that your still just a boy. Some of yous might laugh some of yous might just have this comb straight through your hair.
This may come as a surprise, but this year marked the 25th Anniversary of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. That's right! You heard me right! You are so old you probably already found you first gray pube! The SNES replaced the previous 8-bit consoles in 1991 with a revolutionary 16 bit and extinguished all that came before within all of three years and to this day the Super Nintendo is still widely regarded as one of the best platforms to every hit the market.
Now, it might surprise you that I was only born in 1993. However, on the south side of Chicago, everything came a little late if you were lucky to get it at all. Luckily, my mother busted her ass to not only support us but to go above and beyond to make sure we had the best of everything, even if it wasn't always the most prompt.
Between our mother and our father we had immense collections of Hot Wheels, WWF Figures, Superhero Figures, Comic Books, VHS Tapes, CDs, Sporting Equipment, Skateboards and Bikes, Video Games, and everything else we has our sights set on. Again, it wasn't because we had money it was because of mentality. They bought us the best because it was dependable, because they knew it would last us decades. We treated our possessions properly and we were rewarded with as much as they could put together. So, was it a surprise when we got these things? Actually, yeah. We didn't always get everything we wanted but they did come in clutch. This was one of those times we were surprised.

I became so infatuated with this console that I went from playing Street Fighter with my sister, to hours of "next match' and "later". I became obsessed with beating the system. It was not the video games I was obsessed with, I had plenty of other ways of enjoying my time. However, I found a special joy when I figured out the ways to conquer these games by using their own features against themselves. Yeah, I'm hardcore that way and all you '40 Bombers' need to get on my level.
From there I went on to bigger and better things with Aladdin, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Mortal Kombat, and everything I could get my paws on. My passion for video games grew with each generation of platforms. It all started with this console and today, I own more video games than anybody I know and have no plans on stopping anytime soon.
